At the end of April, the Cape Town Central City Improvement District (CCID) says goodbye to its business manager, Ederies Majiet.
Working in the office of the CEO, which drives the strategy behind the work of the CCID, and also oversees the day-to-day operations of the four CCID departments, Ederies joined the organisation in 2017 to oversee the CCID’s financial administration and human resources (HR) functions.
Says Mary-Ellen Joseph, who has worked with Ederies in her capacity as his finance and HR assistant: “Working with someone as experienced as Ederies, with more than 20 years in the financial industry, has been a privilege. He was not only my manager, but a mentor and source of inspiration as I continue to study towards my Bachelor of Accounting Sciences in Financial Accounting. I’ve learnt so much from him and will miss him a lot.”
A Capetonian through and through, Ederies worked in the financial industry in South Africa for eight years before moving to Australia. After 15 years there – in accounting, finance and related mainly for a multinational engineering company – he returned to Cape Town, where he joined another multinational for a short-term contract before joining the CCID.
Says CCID CEO, Tasso Evangelinos: “It has been a pleasure to work hand-in-hand with Ederies, and the CCID team will miss him. We certainly wish him well as he embarks on a new chapter in his life.”
