The Cape Town Central City Improvement District’s (CCID) Communications department aims to inform the public about the CCID’s work specifically and the Central City in general.

While the other CCID departments are operational on the ground and relatively independent in terms of the primary partners and service providers they work with, part of the job of the Communications team is to provide support across all departments. It aims to pull together the common threads to deliver a cohesive story of the CCID and to manage its reputation.

The other major part of what the Communications team does is to promote the Central City as a “live, work, play, stay and invest” destination that is inclusive and offers opportunities for all to enjoy.

The four-person, full-time team is made up of a manager, project coordinator, online coordinator and staff writer.

Their collective work involves researching and writing editorial content (including publications), producing and distributing educational materials, running the CCID’s departmental campaigns, coordinating and managing the CCID’s own special events (including an annual business breakfast), managing the organisation’s social media and online platforms, and assisting to maintain excellent stakeholder relationships.
